Projects

Last night I worked on two projects. They didn't turn out perfectly, but much better than I had expected.

First project was this cute little onesie with an applique on the front...

And a ruffled little bum!
This project is pretty self-explanatory. I made an applique out of fabric and sewed ruffled ribbon on the bum. So easy and so cute! Next time though, I think I will work on getting the ruffles a little closer together and a little straighter. But I have to say, that it looks much more adorable in real life!

The next project was a shirt for me.

This picture does not even do it justice! I got a ton of compliments on it today at work, and several people asked me where I bought it. I just bought 2 t-shirts from Target, one shirt in my size and one in XXL size. I pre-washed both, and then I cut out heart shapes from the XXL shirt, and tacked them on with a few stitches on the sewing machine. I just bunched them, and eye-balled it as I went. It turned out great! You just have to see it in real life to really see the flowery, corsage-like look it has!

For The Love of Ribbons

I work at a store called Ribbons & Lace. And I am addicted to ribbon. I have been having too much fun learning new tips and tricks. I mean who knew that crocs could be cute...

Or that flip flops could be made fancy shmancy...

Or that binkie's could be considered accesories...

Or that headbands could be so fun to make AND fun to wear...
Or that learning how to make hair bows could just tickle me...

Yes, I think it is safe to say, that I love my job. And that I am addicted to ribbon.
(Warning: If you see me, I might be armed with my low-temp hot glue gun)

Let Me Be Your Missionary

I thought this was hilarious! One of my best friends, McKenzie, showed me this movie. The main character girl, is in her ward at BYU. I believe it was for the LDS Film Festival. I knew Buddy would crack up watching this, even though the ending wouldn't be his favorite part. Enjoy!

Missionary Moment

In one of Buddy's letters, I pulled this quote out. I love this little quote. It is so eloquent, and it has just a slight bit of humor in it. A very "Buddy" comment, with a mature twist. I could definitely get used to this!

"The MTC is such a different place, I'm starting to see things so much differently. It's not all about me! Haha, weird, I know! I've realized, this whole work, the whole purpose I'm here is to help others; to serve others, and to bring others unto our Savior. I love it!"

Hearing things like that, make it so much easier to have him gone. Doesn't mean I don't miss him like crazy. I mean, fast Sunday is approaching, and I keep telling myself, I only have to feel like this 23 more times. He'll be home in nearly 23 more fast Sundays, ya know. Doesn't every Sunday always seem to be fast Sunday? And doesn't 23 sound like such a small number? I don't know how long I can keep this mind game going, but I hope I can for at least the next 2 years!

"It's Gonna Be Ok" Party

Last week, Bailey texted me to have a girl's night. I was thrilled! She told me it was a chocolate potluck and movie night. So with M&M's in hand, I went to her house. She had thrown a full blown out party! All the aunts, girl cousins, and a few guys (Hal, Nick, and Wills part of the time) attended. There was a banner, streamers, a Buddy shrine, and everything chocolate! Chocolate covered strawberries, chocolate cake (with chocolate frosting), chocolate ice cream, and all kinds of M&M's, Snickers, and chocolate candy! Does she know me well, or what!? Then we all collapsed in her living room and watched the movie "Pillow Talk". Thanks Bai, for making me so happy and being so sweet!

I love her!

Hal just only managed a "sad" face

The "Buddy Shrine"

Lots of girls!
